5 Things I’m Loving This Week… 004

Welcome back to That’s What Pea Said… Have you checked out my latest blog post: How To Shake Off A Reading Funk? Admittedly, the day in which I’m posting this seems to be pushed back a little futher each week, however I’m blaming this on the fact that I have lost all concept of time, which in itself is an unfortunate side effect of this Lockdown. I’m so tired of writing about lockdown, but it doesn’t feel appropriate to totally overlook the restrictions… Hopefully there is some sunshine on the horizon, but until then, it’ll be a prominant topic at the forefront of my mind… It is certainly going to be interesting re-visiting this…

If you follow me on instagram, you’ll know that I am currently trying some new skincare from Facetheory… These products were sent to me for PR purposes, however as always I will only share my honest thoughts and opinions and I am really looking forward to sharing my full review in the next fortnight. I’m a big believer that what we choose to put on our skin is just as important as what we choose to put in our mouth and with that in mind, I’ve been making an effort to focus on much greener & cleaner skincare… for both myself & for the planet. I jumped at the opportunity to try these products and I chose the Dermal Detox Set as it contains 3 signature skincare essentials which benefit all skin types whilst being kind to sensitive and allergy prone skin (hoorah)… These lovely products contain a number of my favourite ingredients: aloe vera, chamomile and green tea. They are free from parabens; silicones, PEGs, SLS, SLES and mineral oils. I also think that this packaging is super cute too!

One of the books which I am currently reading is YOU by Caroline Kepnes. I’m reading this book as part of a buddy read over on twitter… I was originally planning to share my thoughts daily on my blog, but this hasn’t been achievable due to my workload this week… I am thoroughly enjoying this book and it’s definitely more immersive than the series which is available to watch on netflix. I’m hoping to complete this book by Sunday and then schedule permitting I’ll share my thoughts in greater detail… The theme is one which is close to my heart and so it makes for both an uncomfortable yet compelling read: I totally recommend it…

As I’ve said above, I have been busy working on my business this week and one of the areas which has been occupying my time is the design of our new logo… Having always had an interest in graphic design, I have really enjoyed the process and I can’t wait to see the design in action. I have been busy sourcing stickers and designing promotional content, which is a welcome break from making products, but equally a distraction which perhaps would have been more welcomed at a slightly less busy time. I think that’s always the way though… Similalrly to anything we have to work for, business is like busses, everything always happens at once…

I am not normally one for using filters, but whilst flicking through snapchat the other day, I happened to discover this gem… It was totally unexpected which made it all the more funnier! Snapchat automatically replaces the hearty-glasses with faces which are saved within your phone and as I’d recently saved a meme featuring Lawrence Chaney, from RuPauls Drag Race UK s2, it was this image which appeared on my specs… Honestly, it made my day – I was in stitches, although I do appreciate that this isn’t everyones humour and may cause some offense, so I have been selective where I share it online – afterall, I have a degree of professionalism to maintain *giggles*. I am also loving my new hair, which rounds off 5 Things I’m Loving This Week…

It is certainly not easy to feel like we’re trapped in an endless cycle right now, however it is still important to still try and find joy in the little things. What have you been enjoying this week? What has brought you joy?
